Pokémon GO Celebrates 8 Years with Exciting Raids and Bonuses!

Pokémon GO is celebrating its 8th anniversary with a week-long extravaganza! The festivities begin Friday, June 28th, at 10:00 a.m. and conclude Wednesday, July 3rd, at 8:00 p.m. Get ready for exciting new Pokémon debuts, boosted event bonuses, and enhanced raid and trading opportunities.

Here's a glimpse of the anniversary excitement:

New costumed Pokémon will make appearances, including party-hat-wearing Grimer and Muk. Shiny Grimer will also be available! Meltan's shiny variant returns via the Mystery Box during the event.

Increased chances of becoming Lucky Friends and obtaining Lucky Pokémon through trades are in store. Friendship levels will advance rapidly through gift opening, trading, and battling. You might even discover 8 or 88 Gimmighoul Coins when spinning PokéStops with a Golden Lure Module.

Special bonuses are scheduled throughout the week: Enjoy halved Egg hatching distances (June 28th-29th), doubled XP for catching Pokémon (June 30th-July 1st), and doubled Stardust for catches (July 2nd-3rd).

One-star raids offer increased shiny chances for the festively adorned Pokémon. Event-themed field research tasks will reward encounters with partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, and Mudkip, along with Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert.
