Point-And-Click Mystery Game The Darkside Detective Is Now Out, Along With Its Sequel A Fumble in the Dark
Akupara Games has been releasing a flurry of titles recently. Following our coverage of their deck-building game, Zoeti, we now turn our attention to the puzzle adventure, The Darkside Detective, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both available now!).
What Awaits in The Darkside Detective?
The game unfolds on a bleak, fog-laden night in Twin Lakes, a city where the strange, supernatural, and utterly absurd are everyday occurrences. Our protagonists are Detective Francis McQueen and his endearing, if occasionally bewildered, partner, Officer Patrick Dooley.
Together, they form the Darkside Division, a perpetually underfunded unit of the Twin Lakes Police Department. You'll assist them in solving nine quirky cases, immersing yourself in the hilarious and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.
These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges, from time-travel mysteries and tentacled horrors to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. See for yourself in the trailer below!
Ready to Investigate? ---------------------------The game is a delightful homage to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop movies. The cases themselves boast intriguing titles: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.
A standout feature is the game's remarkable ability to inject humor into every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. You can also jump straight into A Fumble in the Dark without playing the prequel – find it on Google Play as well.
