Overwatch 2 Reveals New China-Exclusive Events

Overwatch 2's triumphant return to China on February 19th brings a wealth of rewards and events for players. The relaunch includes access to previously missed content from Seasons 1-9, offering a chance to catch up on Battle Pass rewards and participate in exciting in-game events.

The highly anticipated Season 15 will feature a captivating theme: skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology. While specifics remain scarce, the prospect of new or existing skins, potentially exclusive to the Chinese market, or even a broader mythological theme for the season, generates considerable excitement. The official reveal is expected in early February.

A technical test held in January provided a sneak peek of the returning content, including "Overwatch: Classic" and six heroes released since the game's previous absence from China. Following the test, Game Director Aaron Keller confirmed a multi-week celebration upon the game's relaunch, encompassing popular events and rewards. Players will earn Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1-2 pre-launch, and Seasons 3-9 through post-launch in-game events.

In the lead-up to Season 15's February 18th start, players globally can enjoy the "Min 1, Max 3" 6v6 test (January 21st - February 4th), featuring the classic 2-2-2 team composition. Lunar New Year and "Moth Meta Overwatch: Classic" events are also planned before Season 15. While Chinese players missed previous events, their own unique celebrations are on the horizon.
