Nintendo Switch Successor Leak Confirmed

A purported Nintendo Switch 2 logo leak may have just confirmed the console's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next console have been circulating since President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed its existence in early 2024. While a full reveal is anticipated before March 2025, with a launch later this year, the exact release date remains unconfirmed.

The name "Nintendo Switch 2" itself has been subject to much speculation since Furukawa's May 2024 announcement. While Nintendo has remained tight-lipped, most leaks suggest the name will indeed be "Nintendo Switch 2," reflecting a design similar to the original Switch. This aligns with the leaked logo, shared on Bluesky by Universo Nintendo's Necro Felipe. The logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, with the addition of a "2" next to the stylized Joy-Con controllers.

However, confirmation is pending official verification. Some remain skeptical, citing Nintendo's history of unconventional naming conventions (e.g., the Wii U). The less-than-stellar performance of the Wii U might have prompted a more straightforward naming approach this time around.

While previous leaks support the "Nintendo Switch 2" name and the leaked logo, gamers should remain cautious until an official unveiling. Recent social media activity hints at a potentially imminent reveal, adding further fuel to the speculation.
