NecroDancer Rhythm Game Debuts on Android
Crunchyroll, the leading anime streaming service, has just released the critically acclaimed rhythm roguelike, Crypt of the NecroDancer, on Android devices. Now available as "Crunchyroll: NecroDancer," this beat-matching adventure challenges players with its unique gameplay.
Originally launched on PC in 2015 by Brace Yourself Games, and previously available on iOS (2016) and Android (2021), this mobile version boasts enhanced content. The game casts players as Cadence, a treasure hunter's daughter venturing into a rhythmically-infused crypt. Each playthrough is unique, offering replayability through 15 playable characters, each with distinct styles. Players must move and attack in time with Danny Baranowsky's original soundtrack, facing off against dancing skeletons, hip-hop dragons, and more. Failure to maintain the beat results in immediate failure.

This mobile release isn't just a simple port; Crunchyroll and the developers have included remixes, new content, and even Danganronpa character skins. Cross-platform multiplayer and mod support are also featured. A Hatsune Miku DLC featuring the Synchrony expansion is slated for later this year. Crunchyroll subscribers can access the game immediately via the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, check out our upcoming coverage of the Star Trek Lower Decks x Doctor Who crossover.
