Metal Slug: Awakening delivers a modern twist on the beloved '90s franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has undergone development and name changes before its Southeast Asian release in late 2023. Now, it's finally ready for worldwide players.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun game series, debuting in 1996. Originally developed by Nazca Corporation, it has since evolved into a major multimedia franchise.

Awakening isn't Metal Slug's first mobile adventure (previous titles include Metal Slug Defense, Attack, and Commander), but it promises enhanced features and gameplay.

Faithful to its origins, Awakening retains classic shooter mechanics while boasting upgraded graphics and innovative gameplay elements. Players can expect to revisit familiar characters and embark on new adventures. Game modes include World Adventure, 3-player cooperative Team-up battles, and challenging Roguelike scenarios.
