MCU Movies Ranked: A Tier List

With the release of Captain America: Brave New World, it's time once again to delve into the expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which now boasts an impressive collection of 35 films. Which MCU movie tops your list? Do you have a special affection for the early origin stories like Iron Man, or do you thrill to the epic team-ups that concluded the Infinity Saga? There are numerous films to choose from, and remember, this tier list only includes movies from Kevin Feige's MCU, so no Sony Marvel films like the X-Men series this time (except for Wolverine). Here's a look at my personal tier list, which is entirely based on my enjoyment over the years:

Unfortunately, Captain America: Brave New World didn't meet my expectations, landing it in the D tier due to what I consider to be the MCU's clunkiest script to date. As for the rest of the bottom tier, my placement of 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine might surprise some, but it simply didn't resonate with me. You can read more about my thoughts on that here. However, I believe Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the lowest point for the MCU so far, easily earning its place in the D tier.

On the other hand, the top tier is reserved for the five films that I consider truly exceptional. Both Captain America: Civil War and Winter Soldier are S-tier for me, as they effectively explore the emotional depth and paranoid espionage elements of the MCU. Then there's Thor: Ragnarok, which stands out as one of the funniest comedies of the last decade, and, of course, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, which provided a spectacular and satisfying conclusion to the series' most crucial arc.
