"Marvel Rivals Bans Console Players Using Keyboard and Mouse"
In an official statement, NetEase Games has declared that using keyboard and mouse adapters on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles while playing Marvel Rivals will result in account bans. The company views this practice as a breach of their rules, citing the unfair advantage players gain from the enhanced control sensitivity and continued access to aiming assistance.
Adapters like the XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper enable players to simulate gamepad use with a keyboard and mouse, providing a substantial edge in competitive play, particularly when auto-targeting is enabled. NetEase elaborated on their stance:
"We define adapters as devices or programs that mimic gamepad controls using a keyboard and mouse. This creates an imbalance in the game, particularly in competitive modes."
To enforce their policy, NetEase has developed sophisticated tools capable of detecting adapter usage with high precision. Accounts found violating these rules face immediate suspension.
On a related note, it has been observed that in Marvel Rivals, higher frame rates (FPS) can lead to increased ping. While this effect might be less noticeable for players with low ping, a spike to 150 ms from a usual 90 ms can severely disrupt gameplay. This issue appears to be connected to the game's frame rate. As a temporary solution, gamers are advised to await a patch and experiment to find the optimal balance between FPS and ping. Currently, maintaining an FPS around 90 is suggested for Marvel Rivals, which might seem unusual to fans of games like Counter-Strike 2, but it's the recommended approach for now.
