LEGO Unveils Massive 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set
LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: an impressive T-rex skeleton that measures over three feet in length. This set comes with minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, key characters from the original Jurassic Park film where this iconic skeleton is displayed in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (you can sign up for free here) and March 15 for all other customers.

Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This set, comprising 3,145 pieces, is tailored for the 18+ age group, indicating it's designed more for display than for play. It may feature advanced building techniques that could challenge younger builders. While photos may not fully convey the scale, the inclusion of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler minifigures helps put things in perspective. The skeleton stretches over three feet when fully assembled. The skull is similar to the existing LEGO T-rex skull set, which my son built and which looks fantastic. However, the complete skeleton adds a significant impact to the overall design of the new set.

The dinosaur skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various poses. The head can move, the jaw can open, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. Like other LEGO sets inspired by movies, this one includes hidden Easter eggs to discover during the building process. Additionally, it comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While LEGO's Jurassic World collection isn't as extensive as its LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter lines, it is expanding rapidly. Personally, I would love to see more adult-oriented LEGO sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the lineup in the future.
