Best Lasher Decks in Marvel Snap
Unlocking Lasher in Marvel Snap: A Symbiotic Addition to Your Deck?
While the Marvel Rivals season in Marvel Snap winds down, a free reward awaits: Lasher, a holdover from October's We Are Venom season, obtainable through the High Voltage game mode. But is this symbiote worth the effort?
Lasher's Capabilities in Marvel Snap
Lasher is a 2-power, 2-cost card with the ability: Activate: Afflict an enemy card here with negative Power equal to this card’s Power.
Essentially, Lasher inflicts -2 power on an opponent's card unless boosted. Given Marvel Snap's numerous buff options, Lasher offers more potential than free cards like Agony and King Etri.
For example, Namora can boost Lasher to 7 power, or even 12 (or more with Wong or Odin), transforming him into a potent 14 or 24-power play. He synergizes particularly well with the season pass card, Galacta.
Remember, as an Activate card, playing Lasher by turn 5 maximizes his effect.
Optimal Lasher Decks in Marvel Snap
Lasher's optimal placement is still developing, but he fits well within buff-heavy meta decks, especially Silver Surfer decks. While Silver Surfer decks often lack space for 2-cost cards, Lasher's late-game activation can significantly shift power dynamics. Consider this decklist:
Nova, Forge, Lasher, Okoye, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Nakia, Red Guardian, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Galacta. (This list can be copied from Untapped.)
Note that this deck features several expensive Series 5 cards (Red Guardian, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Galacta). However, except for Galacta, these can be substituted with other strong 3-cost cards like Juggernaut or Polaris.
Lasher serves as an excellent third target for Forge, ideally saved for Brood or Sebastian Shaw. After playing Galacta on turn 4, Lasher becomes crucial, turning a 2-cost, 5-power card (with Galacta's buff) into a -5 power affliction on an opponent's card – effectively a 10-power play without extra energy cost.
This Silver Surfer deck is adaptable; consider omitting cards like Absorbing Man, Gwenpool, and Sera.
Another potential deck, leveraging Lasher's buff potential:
Agony, Zabu, Lasher, Psylocke, Hulk Buster, Jeff!, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Spider, Galacta, Gwenpool, Symbiote Spider-Man, Namora. (This list can be copied from Untapped.)
This deck is expensive, requiring several Series 5 cards (Scarlet Spider, Galacta, Gwenpool, Symbiote Spider-Man, and Namora). Jeff! can be replaced with Nightcrawler.
This deck focuses on Galacta, Gwenpool, and Namora to boost Lasher and Scarlet Spider, spreading power across the board. Zabu and Psylocke facilitate early deployment of 4-cost cards, while Symbiote Spider-Man reactivates Namora. Jeff! and Hulk Buster provide backup.
Is the High Voltage Grind Worth It for Lasher?
In an increasingly expensive Marvel Snap meta, Lasher is a worthwhile acquisition if you have the time to grind High Voltage. High Voltage offers various rewards before unlocking Lasher, making the effort worthwhile. While not a guaranteed meta staple, Lasher, like Agony, will likely find a place in several meta-relevant decks.
