'KOF AFK' Soft Launches in Canada, Thailand for Mobile
The King of Fighters AFK is now available in early access for players in Thailand and Canada. Fans in these regions can download the game immediately from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Early access players are guaranteed to recruit Mature, a powerful Orochi Clan member, for their team.
This new mobile entry, inspired by retro RPGs, offers a fresh take on the classic fighting game franchise. Unlike its predecessor, King of Fighters Allstar, which featured numerous crossovers, KoF AFK focuses on building a deck of iconic characters and engaging in 5v5 battles. Netmarble has confirmed that player progress will carry over to the full release.
The game features Neo-Geo Pocket-inspired sprites and aims to provide a more relaxed experience compared to the original series. However, it faces the challenge of winning back fans who may be hesitant after the closure of King of Fighters Allstar. Its success will depend on whether it can deliver enjoyable, casual gameplay to KoF enthusiasts.
