Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Shows No Sign of Slowing Down, Sells 2 Million Copies in Less Than 2 Weeks

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's phenomenal success continues unabated, surpassing 2 million copies sold in under two weeks.

Warhorse Studios, the developer, announced this milestone on Twitter, celebrating the sequel's achievement as a resounding triumph, echoing their earlier celebration of reaching 1 million sales just one day after launch.

This remarkable feat underscores the popularity of Warhorse Studios' medieval RPG sequel, released on February 4th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Last week, Embracer Group, Warhorse Studios' parent company, highlighted the game's exceptional performance on Steam, boasting over 250,000 concurrent players at its peak. This significantly eclipses the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 concurrent players seven years prior. The actual peak player count is undoubtedly higher, considering the console releases, although precise figures remain undisclosed by Sony and Microsoft.

Embracer, owning Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, described Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's initial success as outstanding, citing positive player and critical reception alongside strong sales figures.

Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors attributed the success to the dedication of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver, expressing confidence in continued strong revenue generation over the coming years due to the game's quality and immersive gameplay. He also highlighted Warhorse Studios' comprehensive roadmap of updates and new content planned for the next year, ensuring ongoing engagement with the player community.

Wingefors concluded by expressing immense pride in the teams involved and acknowledging the game's significant outperformance of initial expectations.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's post-launch roadmap includes three expansions slated for 2025. Free updates are anticipated this spring, introducing features such as a barbershop for character customization, Hardcore Mode, and horse racing. Summer will bring the first paid DLC, "Brushes with Death," focusing on protagonist Henry's assistance to a mysterious artist. Autumn will see the release of "Legacy of the Forge," exploring Henry's adoptive father's past. Finally, winter will bring "Mysteria Ecclesia," a covert mission within the Sedlec Monastery.
