Exciting new developments have been revealed for the upcoming Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris, set to begin construction in the Fall of 2025. As reported by Disney Parks Blog, this will be the first-ever land and attraction themed to The Lion King, becoming a centerpiece of the revamped Walt Disney Studios Park, now to be known as Disney Adventure World.

The new water ride will immerse guests in the iconic moments from the 1994 classic, taking them on an unforgettable journey. The land itself will feature a striking 120-foot-high Pride Rock, complemented by a variety of dining options, shopping experiences, character meet-and-greets, and more, enhancing the overall adventure.

Concept Image of The Lion King RideDisney has released a new concept image showcasing the ride, featuring Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting. This scene is just a snippet of the ride's experience, which will also include a thrilling 52-foot drop, surpassing Tiana's Bayou Adventure by a mere two inches.

While an exact opening date is yet to be announced, the ride is slated to follow the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. It will contribute to the expansion of Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's size.

In addition to The Lion King ride and World of Frozen, guests can anticipate the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another exciting addition will be the first-ever attraction themed after Up, designed as a "spinning carousel" that promises breathtaking views of the park's scenery.

World Premiere at Disney Adventure WorldThe new park entrance, World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, will evoke the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza will draw inspiration from Broadway and the West End, hosting theaters with performances such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
