Iconic 'WoW' Weapon Coming to Diablo 4
Diablo 4 Season 5 may bring a legendary crossover: Frostmourne, the Lich King's iconic World of Warcraft weapon! Data miners exploring the Season 5 Public Test Realm (PTR) have uncovered models strongly resembling this fearsome blade, hinting at its potential inclusion in the upcoming August update.
The Season 5 PTR, running until July 2nd, is currently testing new content slated for release in August, including fresh challenges, items, and quests. But the discovery of Frostmourne models on the PTR has ignited excitement. Wowhead's findings reveal two distinct models, suggesting both one-handed and two-handed versions may be available. Whether it's a cosmetic item, a powerful Legendary weapon, or something else entirely, remains a mystery.
Frostmourne's Diablo 4 Debut
Frostmourne holds legendary status in Warcraft lore, a cursed blade that propelled Arthas Menethil to become the Lich King. Destroyed in Wrath of the Lich King, it was later reforged. Interestingly, players can't wield Frostmourne in World of Warcraft, making Diablo 4 a potential first.
This isn't the first WoW crossover in Diablo 4. Last October, the Invincible mount and Frostmourne cosmetic were available in the in-game shop. However, this new discovery suggests a far more significant inclusion – the actual ability to wield Frostmourne in combat.
Season 5 expands weapon options for several classes: Druids gain access to polearms, one-handed swords, and daggers; Necromancers can now use maces and axes; and Sorcerers unlock one-handed swords and maces. If Frostmourne is indeed a one-handed sword, every class in Diablo 4 could wield this legendary weapon.
