Hyper Light Breaker's vast Overgrowth can feel daunting, but the Hoverboard offers a solution. This guide explains how to use this essential, yet surprisingly un-explained, game mechanic.

Summoning Your Hoverboard

To activate your Hoverboard, simply hold down the Dodge button. Your character will dash forward and automatically mount the Hoverboard as long as you continue holding the button. Releasing the Dodge button dismounts you. The Hoverboard will also automatically deactivate if your Energy depletes. Your current Energy level is displayed near your companion. Remember to dismount briefly to replenish your Energy if it runs low.

Hoverboard Movement and Controls

Hoverboard movement is intuitive. The left analog stick controls direction. Leaning into turns is slower at higher speeds. There are no tricks or combat options while on the Hoverboard.

Advanced Hoverboard Techniques and Uses

The Hoverboard's utility extends beyond simple traversal:

• Water Navigation: The Hoverboard floats on water, allowing you to cross rivers and inlets without interruption. You must already be on the Hoverboard to enter the water; it won't summon if you're submerged.

• Enhanced Jumps: Holding the Jump button while on the Hoverboard allows you to crouch and prepare for a jump, improving jump accuracy for longer distances. Note: this doesn't increase jump height or speed.
