Way of the Hunter: Wild America Mobile CBT Announced by HandyGames

Way of the Hunter: Wild America is coming to mobile devices, bringing its expansive open-world hunting experience to smartphones and tablets. PC players are already familiar with its acclaimed gameplay. Originally released by Nine Rocks Games in August 2022 for PC and consoles, this mobile port, developed in partnership with THQ Nordic and HandyGames, is currently in beta testing.

Will the Mobile Version Be Complete?

While some graphical compromises are expected given the limitations of mobile hardware compared to PCs, the core gameplay and DLC will be included post-launch. HandyGames has announced a closed beta test (CBT) via a tweet, providing a signup form for interested players on their official X account.

Is This the Ultimate Hunting Simulator?

Way of the Hunter challenges players with realistic hunting mechanics, requiring patience and strategic thinking. Animals exhibit lifelike behavior within vast open-world environments inspired by the USA and Europe, offering a sprawling 55-square-mile hunting ground.

The game features authentic hunting weapons, including rifles and bows, and incorporates realistic tracking elements such as blood splatter analysis and animal sign interpretation to aid in trophy acquisition. Watch the gameplay trailer below:

Way of the Hunter also features an in-game economy, allowing players to sell harvested meat to purchase superior equipment, hunting licenses, and taxidermy trophies for their lodge. Both campaign and cooperative multiplayer modes are included, and the mobile version will offer full controller support.
