GTA 6 PC Release Hinted To Come At A Later Date
Speculation Mounts: Will GTA 6 Arrive on PC?
Take-Two Interactive's CEO hints at a potential future PC release for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), fueling anticipation among fans. While not officially confirmed, the company's history and recent statements suggest a PC port is likely.
PC Release Remains Unconfirmed, Yet Take-Two Shows Enthusiasm
During a February 10, 2025 interview with IGN, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick discussed platform release strategies. He noted that while Civilization 7 will launch simultaneously on consoles and PC, Rockstar Games, historically, has staggered releases across platforms. This aligns with the release history of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, both initially released on consoles before later arriving on PC.
Although no official PC release date has been announced for GTA 6, Zelnick's comments strongly imply a future PC launch is under consideration. While fans hoped for a simultaneous release, the precedent set by previous Rockstar titles suggests a later PC port is the most probable scenario.
Strong PC Sales Projections for GTA 6
Zelnick highlighted the growing significance of the PC gaming market, stating that PC versions of multiplatform games can contribute up to 40% of total sales. He expressed confidence in GTA 6's success across all platforms, including consoles, despite recent reports of declining console sales. He believes the game's release will boost console sales, echoing past trends where major titles have driven hardware purchases.
GTA 6 is slated for a Fall 2025 release, but the specific date remains unannounced. For the latest updates, visit our Grand Theft Auto 6 page.
Expansion to Nintendo Switch 2?
Take-Two's Q3 Fiscal Conference Call on February 6, 2025, revealed interest in bringing their titles to the Nintendo Switch 2. Zelnick emphasized their evolving relationship with Nintendo, citing the broadening appeal of the Switch platform. With Civilization 7 already confirmed for Switch, the possibility of other Take-Two and Rockstar Games titles appearing on the platform seems increasingly likely.
