Game Launches On May 20th

Mark your calendars! Dune: Awakening is scheduled to launch on May 20th, 2025, initially available on PC via Steam. Console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can look forward to the game at a later, yet-to-be-announced date. In the lead-up to the release, developer Funcom has opened the Character Creator and Benchmark Mode. This allows eager players to start crafting their unique character and test their PC's compatibility with the game.

With the Character Creator, you have the freedom to customize every detail of your character's appearance. You can also select your home planet, caste, and a mentor or class, setting the stage for your journey on Arrakis. Characters created now will seamlessly transfer into the full game upon its release. As an added bonus, early creators will receive an exclusive Frameblade knife skin, which can be redeemed at launch with a special code.

The Benchmark Sequence is designed to evaluate your PC's performance and automatically adjust the graphics settings for the best experience. The test takes you through a player-built base in the desert, then to the bustling Harko Village, a key Harkonnen player hub, and finally, an intense encounter with a colossal sandworm.

Priced at USD 49.99, Dune: Awakening will soon be available for pre-order on Steam. Pre-orders include a special in-base decoration, the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, featuring the beloved desert kangaroo mouse from the series.
