"Devil May Cry Anime Debuts with Limp Bizkit's Hit"
Netflix has stirred excitement among fans by announcing the premiere date for the anime adaptation of Devil May Cry and releasing its captivating opening trailer. The trailer, set against the iconic "Rollin'" track by nu-metal legends Limp Bizkit, showcases dynamic scenes featuring young Dante, Lady, and White Rabbit, packed with nods to the beloved video game series.
Showrunner Adi Shankar has shared his ambitious vision for the series, which is set in the late 90s to early 2000s. Shankar believes the soundtrack perfectly captures the essence of that era. Alongside Limp Bizkit, fans can expect to hear other iconic tracks from the time, as well as a reimagined game soundtrack by the synthwave duo Power Glove.
Shankar also hinted at the series' future, revealing that subsequent seasons will feature distinct visual styles and soundtracks to reflect the diversity of the Devil May Cry games. This suggests that the anime will extend beyond a single season, much to the delight of fans.
While plot details remain under wraps, the first season is expected to draw from the manga "Code 1: Dante" (Devil May Cry 3), where a young demon hunter investigates a child's disappearance. This journey will compel Dante to confront his past, his family, and the legacy of his demon father, Sparda.
The first season of the Devil May Cry anime will comprise 8 episodes and is slated to premiere on April 3, 2025. Fans are eagerly awaiting this thrilling adaptation that promises to blend nostalgia with fresh storytelling.
