State of Decay 3 is unlikely to come out before 2026

Gaming insider Jez Corden, in a recent Xbox Two podcast appearance, hinted at a potential 2026 release for State of Decay 3. While Undead Labs initially aimed for a 2025 launch, Corden suggests an early 2026 debut is now more likely.

Corden assures fans that development is significantly more advanced than previously perceived, although he refrained from offering specifics. This news may disappoint some, yet it's a more positive outlook compared to earlier predictions suggesting a 2027 release.

June's trailer provided a glimpse into the game's post-apocalyptic world, featuring intense gun battles against zombies and Mad Max-style vehicular combat. The narrative will unfold years after the apocalypse, focusing on human survivors establishing and defending settlements against the undead horde.

State of Decay 3 is slated for release on PC and Xbox Series consoles. The last installment in the series launched in 2018.
