IGN recently spoke with Bunn, revealing that while he initially pitched a multiverse story alongside other ideas (Deadpool Kills the Marvel Cosmic Universe, Deadpool Kills the Marvel Zombies, etc.), the timing is now perfect for this epic conclusion.

The challenge of escalating the conflict led to the multiverse setting. Bunn researched the "best" (worst) versions of Marvel heroes and villains, resulting in battles against Cap-Wolves, Worldbreaker Hulks, and many more distorted versions of familiar characters. He promises a visual spectacle from artist Dalibor Talajić, who will continue to experiment with artistic styles, similar to Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again.

While the first two books are standalone stories with different reasons for Deadpool's rampage, this installment offers a fresh start while hinting at connections to previous events.
