Dan Da Dan Anime Unveils Trailer for Theatrical Release

DAN DA DAN: A Fall 2024 Anime Sensation

Anticipation is building for DAN DA DAN, a highly anticipated anime poised to be a fall 2024 hit. Crunchyroll, Netflix, and other platforms will stream it globally, with GKIDS bringing a special theatrical preview to North America.

Based on Yukinobu Tatsu's popular manga, DAN DA DAN follows Ken "Okarun" Takakura, a ghost skeptic and alien believer, and Momo Ayase, who holds the opposite convictions. Their "test of courage" reveals a terrifying truth: they're both right, plunging them into chaotic supernatural adventures.

A Stellar Cast and Crew

The latest trailer introduces supporting characters: Momo's eccentric spirit medium grandmother, Seiko (CV: Nana Mizuki); classmates Aira Shiratori (CV: Ayane Sakura) and Jin Enjoji (CV: Kaito Ishikawa); alongside previously revealed yokai Turbo-Granny (CV: Mayumi Tanaka) and alien Serpo (CV: Kazuya Nakai). Okarun is voiced by Natsuki Hanae, and Momo by Shion Wakayama.

Visually Stunning and Sonically Thrilling

DAN DA DAN's vibrant visuals and energetic animation style evoke comparisons to Mob Psycho 100. This is no coincidence, given the involvement of Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho 100) as alien and creature designer, and Naoyuki Onda (Berserk, Psycho-Pass) as character designer. The soundtrack, composed by Kensuke Ushio (A Silent Voice, Devilman Crybaby, Chainsaw Man), promises to be equally captivating, with the opening theme, "Otonoke," performed by Creepy Nuts.

Catch DAN DA DAN First: Theatrical Preview

A theatrical preview event, "DAN DA DAN: First Encounter," showcasing the first three episodes and bonus content, will screen August 31st in Asia and September 7th in Europe. North American audiences can experience it starting Friday the 13th of September, courtesy of GKIDS. This event will include a video interview with the author, editor, director, and the main voice actors.

Streaming Premiere: October 2024

DAN DA DAN will begin streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix this October.
