A Quarter-Century of Sims Fun!

The Sims' 25th anniversary is being marked with a wealth of in-game rewards, a star-studded livestream showcasing top Simmers, and the triumphant return of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 to PC.

Kevin Gibson, The Sims Production Director, expressed gratitude to the dedicated fanbase in an interview with Xbox Wire, highlighting the franchise's enduring appeal across generations. He emphasized the crucial role of players in the game's remarkable success over the past 25 years, acknowledging their contributions to this significant milestone.

The Sims 1 and 2 Make a Comeback!

The biggest news is the return of the original The Sims and The Sims 2! Both games, complete with their DLCs, are available for purchase on Steam and the EA store, either individually or as a special Birthday Bundle. This marks a significant event for long-time fans, as these titles haven't been readily available for almost a decade. EA has addressed compatibility issues, ensuring these classics run smoothly on modern systems.

In-Game Celebrations in The Sims 4 and The Sims FreePlay

The Sims 4's "Blast From The Past" event features iconic items from earlier games, including retro furniture, clothing, and decor. New items will be released weekly over four weeks, such as neon inflatable chairs, a three-tiered cake, a light-up dance floor, and even rotary phones.

The Sims FreePlay's Birthday Update transports players back to the series' origins with new Live Events ("The One with the Coffee Shop" and "Reality Island"), a velour tracksuit, daily gifts for 25 days, and a museum showcasing The Sims' history in Social Town.

A 25-Hour Livestream Extravaganza!

The anniversary celebrations kicked off with a 25-hour livestream on February 4th, featuring numerous celebrities, streamers, and prominent Simmers. Notable guests included Doja Cat, Latto, Trixie Mattel and Katya, Dan & Phil, Plumbella, Angelo & Lexy, Ironmouse, and many more.
