Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is taking another exciting step into the mobile gaming world with Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the beloved Digimon Card Game. This free-to-play title is slated for release on Android and iOS, though an exact launch date remains under wraps.

The game was unveiled at Digimon Con 2025, held on March 19th, where Bandai Namco also shared updates on other projects. Fans can look forward to a new arc for Digimon Liberator starting in April 2025. Additionally, a special video was released celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime, and a new project, Digimon Adventure: Beyond, was announced. Bandai Namco is also developing a new RPG, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, for consoles and PC.

Digimon Alysion: More Than Just a Card Game

Digimon Alysion isn't just a direct port of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces 'DigiAly' cards, unique to this digital version, alongside the original cards. The game also features new Digimon and characters, adding fresh elements to the gameplay.

The character lineup on the game's website showcases an all-female cast, which is an intriguing choice for a digital card game. While some fans are excited about these new additions, others are skeptical, especially those who were hoping for a faithful adaptation of the physical game.

This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile gaming. Previous attempts have met with limited success, creating a bit of apprehension about Digimon Alysion's prospects. However, a closed beta test is in the works, though details are yet to be revealed. For the latest updates, check out the official website or their X account.

Despite past challenges, I'm eagerly anticipating the launch of Digimon Alysion. The unique approach and new elements promise to offer a fresh take on the Digimon universe.
