Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its official stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, players opting out of the test are advised to reinstall the game.

Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play between PC and consoles, facilitated by linked Larian accounts. Surprisingly, modded gameplay is also supported in crossplay, provided all mods used by the PC player are available on Mac and consoles, and the host's game doesn't exceed ten mods.

Multiplayer receives a significant boost with the addition of split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.

Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a fully customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding depth and variety to gameplay. Bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, though some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog is available on the game's official website.
