Avowed: Minimize Motion Sickness with These Settings
Motion sickness can quickly turn a fun gaming experience into a nauseating ordeal. If you're playing *Avowed* and finding yourself feeling queasy, don't worry—we've got you covered. Here's how to tweak the settings to minimize that unpleasant sensation.
In most first-person games, motion sickness often stems from head movement, field of view, and motion blur. *Avowed* is no exception. Let's tackle these settings one by one.
How to Minimize Head Movement and Camera Shake

To significantly reduce motion sickness, start by adjusting the camera settings. Navigate to Settings, then the "Game" tab, and finally the "Camera" section. Set the following options:
- Third-Person View: On or Off (your preference).
- Head Bobbing: Off
- Head Bobbing Strength: 0%
- Local Camera Shake Strength: 0%
- World Camera Shake Strength: 0%
- Camera Sway Strength: 0%
- Animated Camera Strength: 0%
These adjustments should greatly alleviate motion sickness for most players. Experiment slightly to find the perfect balance between immersion and comfort.
Adjusting Field of View and Motion Blur

If eliminating head bobbing and camera shake isn't enough, head to the "Graphics" tab in the Settings menu. Focus on these two sliders:
- Field of View: Start with a lower Field of View setting and gradually increase it until you find a comfortable level. This might require some experimentation.
- Motion Blur: Reducing or completely disabling motion blur often helps significantly with motion sickness. Try setting it to zero and adjusting upwards as needed.
Still Feeling Sick?
If you're still experiencing motion sickness even after these adjustments, continue experimenting with the settings mentioned above. Consider switching between first-person and third-person view as needed. If all else fails, remember to take breaks, drink some water, and try again later. Don't push yourself if you're feeling unwell.
These settings should help make your Avowed experience smoother and more enjoyable.
