Assassin's Creed Shadows Delayed to March 20, 2025

Ubisoft has announced another delay for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing the release date back to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for a February 14th release, this marks a five-week postponement from the previously announced date.

The publisher cites the need to integrate player feedback as the reason for the delay. This contrasts with the first delay, announced in September 2024, which moved the game from a November 15th release to February 14th. That delay, attributed to development challenges concerning historical accuracy, resulted in pre-order refunds and the offer of free access to the first expansion for future pre-orders.

Ubisoft's Vice President Executive Producer, Marc-Alexis Coté, emphasized the company's commitment to delivering a high-quality experience through ongoing player engagement. He stated that the extra time will allow for further refinement and polishing. While no similar pre-order incentives have been announced for this latest delay, the shorter timeframe may mitigate potential player dissatisfaction.

Release Date: March 20, 2025

The timing of this second delay is noteworthy, coinciding with Ubisoft's internal investigation into its development practices. The company aims to create a more "player-centric" approach, and incorporating fan feedback into Assassin's Creed Shadows could be a direct result of this initiative. This follows a challenging fiscal year with record losses for Ubisoft, despite its overall market position.
