Capcom's Recent Spotlight Unveils Exciting Game Updates
Capcom recently held a Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, revealing significant updates for several titles. Key announcements included new details for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, a release date for Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and extensive information on Monster Hunter Wilds.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword – A 2026 Release
Targeted for a 2026 launch, Onimusha: Way of the Sword will feature a new protagonist, compelling characters, and engaging enemies. The game aims to recreate the Edo period setting of Kyoto with meticulous detail, promising intense sword combat emphasizing visceral satisfaction. The protagonist, through a twist of fate, wields an Oni Gauntlet, fueled by the souls of defeated Genma. While challenging, the game's difficulty will be balanced for broad player appeal.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny – Remastered in 2025
A remastered version of the 2002 classic, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, is slated for release in 2025, bridging the gap until Onimusha: Way of the Sword's arrival.
Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 – Arkveld Awaits
The second Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta test introduces the flagship monster, Arkveld, in a challenging advanced quest. Other additions include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, and online features like Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Player data from the first beta will transfer, and the Character Creator, Story Trial, and Doshaguma hunt return. Cross-play will be featured.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches February 28th. Beta participants receive a special Pendant.
Monster Hunter Wilds – Iceshard Cliffs and New Monsters
The Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase showcased a new story trailer featuring the Iceshard Cliffs and new monsters: Rove (Wudwud), Hirabami (Leviathan), Nerscylla (Temnoceran), and Gore Magala. Further details on Arkveld were also revealed.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 – May 16th Release
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 launches May 16th, 2025, and includes Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword: Night of Bilstein.
Street Fighter 6 – Mai Arrives February 5th
Mai from Fatal Fury joins Street Fighter 6's roster on February 5th, preceding Elena as the penultimate Year 2 character.
