Choose your adventure: a portable 13-inch or a more spacious 15-inch. The 13-inch model starts at $999 (a hundred bucks less than last year's!), while the 15-inch begins at $1199. The M4 chip delivers a noticeable performance increase and enhanced battery life. The base model boasts a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. For power users, customizable options include a 10-core GPU, 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage.
Beyond the power upgrade, there's a fresh new color: Sky Blue—a subtly tinted silver. Other color options include Midnight (black), Starlight (gold), and Silver (silver). Space Gray is no longer available. Whichever color you choose, your MagSafe charging cable will match.
The integrated "Center Stage" camera gets a significant boost to 12 megapixels, promising sharper, clearer video calls.
While not strictly necessary, Apple claims the M4 is twice as fast as the M1 MacBook Air, making it a compelling upgrade for M1 users. The improvement over Intel-based MacBooks is even more dramatic—a claimed 23x speed increase.
