Application Description

This simple, straightforward radio app controls your USB DAB+ receiver (not SDR) – perfect for car head units. Enjoy a user-friendly interface with a smooth slideshow. No station logos are displayed, and no internet connection is needed.

Important: This app requires a USB receiver with one of the device IDs listed below. It will not function without a compatible receiver.

New Features (Version 1.1.6):

  • Save and share/export currently displayed information as a text file (appending to existing files).

Existing Features:

  • Customizable info text color (long-press the info text area).
  • Experimental steering wheel button support (see details below).

Steering Wheel Controls:

  • Skip Next: Next station.
  • Skip Previous: Previous station.
  • Play: Cycle through station filters ("All," "Selected Program Type," "Favorites").

This app isn't meant to rival the excellent "DAB-Z" app. It's designed for users (like me!) with larger fingers and less-than-perfect touchscreens.

The interface is incredibly simple, ideal for in-car use, featuring large buttons and selection areas for reliable operation on potentially less-than-perfectly calibrated touchscreens.

Optimized for 1024x600 landscape car screens. If you have a different resolution and experience display issues, please report them on the XDA Developers website (link provided).

This app is based on the HRadio example code by IRT GmbH (Fabian Sattler), licensed under the Apache License 2.0.

Compatible USB Receiver IDs:

  • 0416:b003
  • 0fd9:004c
  • 16c0:05dc
  • 1d19:110d

Version 1.1.6 (October 12, 2024):

  • Android 14 target enabled.
  • Fixed USB discovery issues when the app is already running.
  • Resolved a bug where the app sometimes failed to close when the back button was pressed.
