Diagnose and resolve issues in your BMW with the bimmer-tool app. This powerful tool allows you to read and clear fault codes, initiate DPF regeneration, monitor live engine data, and much more. While functionality is comprehensive for most models, users of pre-2008 vehicles may experience limitations, and a K+DCan USB cable connection is strongly recommended for optimal performance. Wireless ELM adapter connectivity might be unreliable or feature-limited for these older models.

App Capabilities:

• DPF regeneration status and detailed information
• DPF regeneration initiation
• DPF adaptation value reset (post-filter replacement)
• Exhaust fumes pressure readings
• Injector adjustment readings
• Air mass, intake manifold pressure, and fuel pressure readings (actual and expected)
• Data logging to CSV for analysis
• Battery replacement registration (without altering battery properties)
• Resetting short-circuit blocked lamp circuits
• Oil/brake service and interval reset**

Supported OBD Adapters:

• K+D-Can USB (Recommended)
• ENET cable/WiFi Adapter (Recommended for F & G series)
• ELM327 Bluetooth (May be slower, genuine or PIC18-based adapters only. May not work with older engines)
• ELM327 WiFi (May be less stable. Disable mobile data for optimal performance.)

Quick Start Guide:

1. Connect adapter to OBD II port.
2. Turn ignition on.
3. Connect adapter to your phone (USB, Bluetooth, or WiFi).
4. Open the app, select your car model and year.
5. Choose connection type, adapter type, and communication protocol.
6. Tap "Connect".

**Limitations:** Pre-2008 models (e46/e39/e83/e53) require K+DCan cable; only the engine ECU is supported. Wireless ELM adapter connection may be impossible.

Common Problems:

• "No response" error (pre-2007 vehicles with BT/WiFi adapters): Try ATWM in advanced settings.
• No connection: Force stop diagnostic apps, restart your phone, and retry.

Permissions: Storage (USB support), Photos/Media/Files (CSV creation), Bluetooth (Bluetooth adapter support), Network Access (WiFi adapter support), Approximate Location (not used).
