Wuthering Waves: Elemental Effects, Explained

Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, but lacked deep interaction. Version 2.0 introduces Elemental Effects, allowing for more direct interactions beyond passive buffs.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:

All six elements now have unique status effects applied via elemental attacks. Dodging removes these stacks. These effects often function as damage over time (DoT).

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:

Currently, Elemental Effect utilization is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo sets interact with these effects.

Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:

• Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle and a Shimmer effect (preventing stack decay), allowing sustained effect buildup.

Echoes and Echo Sets:

Currently, only one Echo set benefits from Elemental Effects (primarily for Spectro Rover):

• Eternal Radiance (Echo Set): 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Inflicting Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG bonus for 15s.
• Nightmare (Echo): Increases DMG dealt to enemies with Spectro Frazzle by 100%; provides a 12% Spectro DMG bonus to the equipped Resonator.

While limited currently, the integration of Elemental Effects suggests future expansion of this mechanic in Wuthering Waves.
