Best Decks Tier List in Pokémon TCG Pocket
Understanding strong cards is only half the battle; deck construction is crucial. Below are the top-performing decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
S-Tier Decks
Gyarados Ex/Greninja Combo
This deck utilizes a synergistic approach. The core consists of: Froakie x2, Frogadier x2, Greninja x2, Druddigon x2, Magikarp x2, Gyarados Ex x2, Misty x2, Leaf x2, Professor’s Research x2, Poké Ball x2. The strategy involves using Druddigon (100 HP) as a defensive wall and consistent chip damage dealer, requiring no Energy. Simultaneously, Greninja inflicts additional chip damage and serves as a secondary attacker. Finally, Gyarados Ex delivers the knockout blow after the opponent's HP is significantly reduced.
Pikachu Ex
Currently the dominant deck, Pikachu Ex is characterized by speed and aggression. The deck includes: Pikachu Ex x2, Zapdos Ex x2, Blitzle x2, Zebstrika x2, Poké Ball x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Giovanni x2. Pikachu Ex's 90 damage for two Energy is exceptionally efficient. Adding Voltorb and Electrode provides additional offensive options, with Electrode's free retreat being a significant advantage.
Raichu Surge
A slightly less consistent variant of the Pikachu Ex deck, Raichu Surge leverages surprise bursts of damage. The deck features: Pikachu Ex x2, Pikachu x2, Raichu x2, Zapdos Ex x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Poké Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Lt. Surge x2. While Raichu's Energy discard can be a drawback, Lt. Surge mitigates this effectively. Zapdos Ex offers a reliable secondary attacker, and X Speed facilitates quick retreats.
A-Tier Decks
Celebi Ex and Serperior Combo
The Mythical Island expansion boosted Grass-type decks, with Celebi Ex and Serperior at the forefront. The deck includes: Snivy x2, Servine x2, Serperior x2, Celebi Ex x2, Dhelmise x2, Erika x2, Professor’s Research x2, Poké Ball x2, X Speed x2, Potion x2, Sabrina x2. The strategy centers on rapidly evolving Snivy into Serperior, utilizing its Jungle Totem ability to double Grass Pokémon Energy. Combined with Celebi Ex's coin flips, this leads to significant damage potential. Dhelmise provides a secondary attacker. However, Fire-type decks pose a significant counter.
Koga Poison
This deck focuses on poisoning opponents and exploiting their weakened state. The deck includes: Venipede x2, Whirlipede x2, Scolipede x2, Koffing x2, Weezing x2, Tauros, Poké Ball x2, Koga x2, Sabrina, Leaf x2. Scolipede delivers heavy damage to poisoned Pokémon. Weezing and Whirlipede spread poison, while Koga facilitates Weezing's deployment. Leaf reduces retreat costs. Tauros serves as a powerful finisher against Ex decks. This deck excels against Mewtwo Ex.
Mewtwo Ex/Gardevoir Combo
This deck relies on the synergy between Mewtwo Ex and Gardevoir. The deck includes: Mewtwo Ex x2, Ralts x2, Kirlia x2, Gardevoir x2, Jynx x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Poké Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Giovanni x2. The goal is to quickly evolve Ralts into Gardevoir to support Mewtwo Ex's Psydrive attack. Jynx provides early-game stalling and offense.
B-Tier Decks
Charizard Ex
Charizard Ex boasts high damage potential but requires careful setup. The deck includes: Charmander x2, Charmeleon x2, Charizard Ex x2, Moltres Ex x2, Potion x2, X Speed x2, Poké Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Sabrina x2, Giovanni x2. Moltres Ex assists in rapid Energy accumulation for Charizard Ex's devastating Inferno Dance attack. However, consistent draws are crucial for success.
Colorless Pidgeot
This deck utilizes basic Pokémon with high value. The deck includes: Pidgey x2, Pidgeotto x2, Pidgeot, Poké Ball x2, Professor’s Research x2, Red Card, Sabrina, Potion x2, Rattata x2, Raticate x2, Kangaskhan, Farfetch’d x2. Rattata and Raticate provide early-game damage, while Pidgeot's ability forces opponent switches, creating disruption.
This concludes our current Pokémon TCG Pocket tier list. Remember that the meta is ever-evolving.
