Genki, renowned for handheld gaming accessories, showcased a 3D-printed Nintendo Switch 2 mockup at CES 2025, revealing intriguing details about the upcoming console. Based on a black market acquisition, the model accurately reflects the Switch 2's dimensions, hinting at a larger form factor approaching the Steam Deck.

Key features observed include magnetic Joy-Cons, a second USB-C port, and a mysterious "C" button. Genki CEO Eddie Tsai confirmed the magnetic Joy-Con design in an interview with The Verge, explaining a mechanism using pins and magnets for secure attachment and detachment.

More than just Magnets: Optical Sensors and Functionality

The Joy-Cons incorporate optical sensors, suggesting potential new functionalities, possibly mouse-like capabilities via a yet-to-be-released attachment. Leaked images appear to support this theory.
